Providing services for Reedley College, the coordinator will:
- Work closely with the Title V Director to implement the goals of the grant project, scaling applied learning to Guided Pathways through career exploration, applied learning, and student engagement;
- Collaborate with faculty members across pathways to generate opportunities for students to connect and create cohorted learning opportunities;
- Recruit community partner organizations and maintain regular contact to ensure student learning outcomes and goals remain in focus, adapting as necessary;
- Recruit students to internships, apprenticeships, applied learning, service learning, work-based learning, and/or any other professional experience opportunities;
- Maintain regular contact with students participating in internship, applied learning, service learning, work-based learning, and/or any other professional experience opportunity, to ensure student learning outcomes and goals remain in focus, adapting as necessary;
- Assist, as needed with curriculum design and review for the courses contained within the opportunities of each college pathway;
- Implement program review recommendations which may include creating and revising curriculum including certificate and degree offerings, developing advisory committees, increasing enrollment and number of program completers, and development of further internship programs;
- Assist in job placement and follow-up with student interns;
- Provide advice for students participating in internship, applied learning, service learning, work based learning, and/or any other professional experience opportunity, serving as an advisor for co-curricular activities, and participating in recruitment activities with pertinent high school programs, events, and student leadership activities;
- Serve on college-wide committees and attends faculty meetings, as necessary to support and enrich college programs and activities, and participating in student success initiatives;
- Participate in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning;
- Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, on-line or off-campus and large group instruction classes as needed;
- Otherwise fulfilling all of the duties and responsibilities of faculty as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom; and
- Any master’s degree level discipline in which learning assistance or tutoring is provided at the college where the coordinator is employed; or
- A master’s degree in education, educational psychology, or instructional psychology or other master’s degree with emphasis in adult learning theory; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;
- Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes;
- Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds including students with disabilities;
- Willingness to examine and remediate one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students;
- Related work and professional experience;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and clearly with students and staff both orally and in writing;
- Demonstrated ability to work with computers, and other technologies, which are utilized in providing high-quality instruction and support to students;
- Experience and knowledge of computer applications and technology related to coordination functions;
- Experience addressing educational barriers of low-socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff;
- Demonstrated ability and experience in recruitment of students;
- Demonstrated ability to involve students in leadership activities;
- Commitment to professional growth and membership in professional organizations;
- Demonstrated ability to work with advisory committees and interact with community partners;
- Demonstrated ability to identify and assess student learning outcomes and incorporate them into program improvement;
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the challenges encountered by community college students;
- Knowledge of Guided Pathways model at Reedley College;
- General knowledge of the principles, practices, and trends of Student Services including providing learning experiences;
- Working knowledge of campus support services and programs;
- Working knowledge of counseling techniques including maintaining confidentiality of student information in accordance with applicable rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of the best practices in internship program development and implementation;
- Knowledge of issues related to college student development;
- Knowledge of student success models/programs designed to improve student success and retention;
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials; and
- Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
Conditions of Employment
191 duty days contingent upon funding.Salary and Benefits
Starting annual salary is $70,302 – $105,838 based on education and experience. An annual doctoral stipend of $2,419 is available. In addition, the District offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and dependents, and life insurance. Employees are also members of the California State Teacher’s Retirement System (CalSTRS).
Selection Procedure
